BREXIT AGONIES

According to the London Economic, “social media were abuzz with reaction today, after it was revealed that UK nationals would face delays at European airports and Eurostar terminals from the end of the year.”

The British prime minister made a last effort for continuing the use of the automatic gates that allow EU nationals to pass quickly through the EU terminals, rather than having to queue up with aliens after the end of the adjustment phase.

According to recent studies, the loss of admission to automatic gates and the necessity for extra passport checks would delay the British by an extra hour as they pass through European airports. The matter has been raised in the current trade and security tealks and the British government has made contacts with several member-states in an attempt to keep access to the e-gates.

Earlier this month, officials of Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport warned that people travelling from the UK should expect delays when arriving in Holland after BREXIT.  Analysis by the Dutch government insinuate it could take an extra hour for passengers on busy flights to get through formalities due to extra passport checks.  An exhausted Briton said: “This is not the BREXIT I voted for!”

According to Sir John Curtice, Professor of Politics at Strathclyde University,  there is a small but consistent majority in favour of rejoining the  European Union.

I am extremely sorry that the Britons voted to leave the European Union in June 2016.  I sincerely hope that the Brexciteers are starting to change their mind and realizing that unity is strength. Perhaps a new referendum?

The two main issues in the 2016 referendum were migration and economy, have they improved after Brexit?
