An athlete helped a paralysed young woman to make her dream come true. Marios Giannakou carried biology student, Eleftheria Tosiou, on his back to the top of mount Olympus.
Goannakos carried 22-year-old Eleftheria in a specially modified backpack and climbed the steep mountain slopes with an eight-member support team. They reached a shelter at 2.400 metres, where they spent the night and left at 6 am on Monday to reach mount Mytikas, the highest peak of mount Olympus, 2.918 metres high, at 9 am.
An act of magnanimity which makes us very proud. Well done!
