RUSSIA WARNS GREECE NOT TO SEND S-300 MISSILES TO UKRAINE


 Russia on Monday warned Greece that a delivery of Greece's S-300 missile defence system to Ukraine would be considered a very provocative move.

The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova said that the Russian armed forces will locate and destroy all military supplies sent to Ukraine.

"We comsider plans to supply the Kyiv regime with S-300 or other air defence systems that will be used against Russia very provocative." stated Zakharova. 

" The Greek authorities rencetly underlined their readiness to supply Ukraine with S-300 missile defense systems to replace them." she added/

"There is a complet indifferance by Greece on the international limitations on arms trading," she continued.   

Russia's threats followed unconfirmed reports that the Greek Defense Minister, Nikos Panagiotopoulos pledged to send th S-300 system currently stored in Crete in exchange for US-made Patriots.

"If the US deploys a Patriot system on Crete, then when it is intergrated into the National Defense System the S-300 can be removed," Nikos Panagiotopoulos said adding that "The same applies to any other air defence system the S-300 can be removed." he added. 

Russia's permanent representative to Crimea, Georgy Moratov warned Greece not to tramsfer anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine saying it would be am "irrational display of hostolity against Russia."
