JIM RAPTIS THE GREEK WHO CHANGED AUSTRALIA'S GOLD COAST


 Jim Raptis. a designer and architect born on the island of Evia, Greece changed the face of the most cosmopolitan region of Australia's Gold Coast.

He came to Australia with his family in 1954 as a young boy and lived in Ingram, North Queensland until the family moved to Sydney.  

He began developing property in Sydney in 1967, and his passion for design and architecture have been evident from the very beginning.  

However. the Raptis name has become synonymous with the Gold Coast in Queensland where he arrived in 1973.

For more than forty years, the Raptis company has developed and constructed some of the most iconic landmarks along the coast and have subsequently shaped the city's destinctive skyline.  

It all started with the Mykonos development in 1978. From then on his company has contributed significanly to creating the region's iconic, easygoing lifestyle.     

Raptis has developed many buildings including the well-kown building of the Gold Coast such as Chevron Renaissance, the Corporate Centre, Southport Centre and the Hilton Hotel and Residences.. 

His company have received many awards for their design construction and marketing including a number of state and national awards.

We are extremely proud of our Australian compatriot's great achivements. well done Mr. Raptis!
