Greek sportscaster and journalist Giannis Diakoyiannis considered the guru of sports, including athletics and football, died in Athens today, he was 91.
He studied music in France but journalism won him over. He covered many top events including the football World Cups in 1954 in Switzerland and 1996 in France.
A song was written about him "Arhizei to Match, athiazoun i thromoi .....Tou Diakoyianni i phone!"
