THE HISTORY OF INDIA

 


The Indian valley civilization, India's oldest known civilization (2.500 to 1700 BC) is identified by its interesting culture as well as its artifacts. 

The strength and basis of Hinduism is attributed for the Vedic culture (about 1.500) as well as the origin of the caste system.

India has had many different influences throughout its history due to migration, invasion or expansion of other nations.

Some of these nations who influenced India include the Moghul under the leadership of Genghis Khan, the Greeks under Alexander the Great and the British.  

India was a wealthy country, the Europeans traded with India for spices and textiles but when the British came India's economy declined. This was due to expolitation of India's industry and wealth.

Eventually India would be granted its independence in 1947 but had a slow progression in its development. 

Present day India has made significant progress in large-scale industrialization, As a result India has become one of the top five industrialized nations of the world. it produces every conceivable industrial items and consumer goods and has achieved significant success in scientific research including peaceful implecation of nuclear energy. space and satelite research, communication technology and biotechnology. 

India has also has the third largest reservoirs of scientific and tedchnology manpower. Poineering scientists such as Nobel lauriates C.V. Rahman, Home Bata, J.C.Bose, Satyen Bose have won laureates for India both home and abroad.
