TURKEY RENEWS THREATS OF WAR OVER GREEK TERRITORIAL SEA DISPUTE

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu warned Greece not to proceed with anyexpancsion of its territorial waters in the Aegean, which is Greece's legal rights saying if this occurs it will be considered as a causus belli.

International maritime law allows Greece to extend its territorial waters to 12 nauetical miles but Turkey said such an extention  in the Aegean would be seen as as cause of war.

"The Greek government conducts itself according to international law and its national interests as its only daterminants." Greek government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou said in a statement,

It is unfortunate that we have such aggressive neighbors and their president Erdogan whe repeats constantly that the Greek islands in the eastern Aegean are Turkish!
