The pace of Europe’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign has
picked up and in many countries of the European Union infection rates have been
falling.
Lockdowns are gradually being eased, as the summer tourist
season starts. The European Union’s 27 member states aim to have digital
vaccination certificates for travel in place by July.
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy,
Ireland Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania,
Slovakia. Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden have decided to gradually lift
restrictions, after fewer infection cases and deaths have been reported, due to
the vaccinations against this deadly disease.
Europeans will continue wearing masks and keeping distances, according
to the World Health Organization’s instructions. Let us hope that medicaments
will be, soon, discovered to save the world from the disastrous COVID-19.
I was shocked to read that many naïve people were denying
that the coronavirus exists. Some even
thought it was a hoax until they contracted the disease, some even,
unfortunately, died. So, we should listen
to doctors and university professors in the field of medicine who inform us
daily on the latest cases and deaths, trying to convince us how to avoid this
terrible plague through vaccination, social distancing, wearing masks, and
staying at home when necessary. It is, certainly better to be wise and bored than sick
and sorry.
