A wonderful Dior fashion show, inspired by Greece, was held yesterday at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.
As I have written in a previous post, a fantastic fashion show was held at the Stadium, on Thursday, for Dior's "Cruise 2022" collection.
Placing the show at the Kallimarmaro Stadium, where the 1st Modern Olympic Games were held in 1894, is clearly a reminder of ancient Greece, which was always a great inspiration for Dior.
At the helm of the show was Maria Gracia Chiuri, Dior's current creatic director, who sees fashion through a feminist lens, and in terms of Dior's "Cruise 2022" collection, she researched a tremendous amount of information about powerful ancient Greek women.
The creative director has chosen to implement Greece as a theme of her work and she decided to combine the beautiful dresses with the chunky sneakers that the models wore, evoking a powerful contrast of elegance and the Olympic games.
400 guests were invited to the fashion show, 70 Greek and 330 from abroad. Famous actresses and politicians and Mrs. Brigitte Macron.
Here are a few models from Dior's fashion show "Cruise 2022":
