ANCIENT AQUEDUCT AND THOUSANDS OF ARTIFACTS DiSCOVERED IN PIRAEUS

The Site of the Excavations in Piraeus

The Ancient Treasures

According to the press, Greek archaeologists discovered an ancient aqueduct and thousands of objects from the Hellenistic and Roman periods during the excavation for the enlargement of the metro line to Piraeus.

Municipal Theatre Piraeus

Some of the ancient treasures will be exhibited at the metro station called "Municipal Theatre" in Piraeus which is currently under reconstruction.

The exhibition will include, in addition to the aqueduct, "representations of ancient tanks and wells a model copy of an aqueduct as well as an authentic pebble floor from the classical  Hellenistic era" that were found during the excavations.

(I wish to thank the Greek press and the blog "Greek Reporter" for the valuable information for this post)
