The former leper colony of Spinalonga, just off the coast of Crete will be restored to create exibition space the Greek Culture Ministry announced.
The restoration of the building of the Leprocy Hospital is part of the Ministry's promotion and protection of Venetian fotress.
"Spinalonga was an extremely important fotress during the Venetian period but also a place charged with sad memories from the time the island was a Leprosium," said Culture Minister Lina Mendoni.
