The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis officially announced that the parliamentary elections will take place on May 21st.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting in Athens Mitsotakis said that if the first round of voting is inconclusive and a government is not formed the second roound will take place in early July at the latest.
Mitsotakis noted that the date marks the end of the government's four-year term.
