Allergic rhinitis also known as hay fever is a type of
inflammation of the nose which occurs when the immune system overreacts to
allergens, according to Mayo Clinic.
Signs and symptoms are a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing and red, itchy, watery
and swollen eyes.
Doctors usually perform a physical examination, take a
medical history and possibly recommend one or both of the following tests:
!. Skin prick test
2. Allergy blood test
That both ascertain the substance of which one is allergic.
Then they subscribe the following treatments:
Nasal corticosteroids, which are nasal sprays, which prevent
and treat nasal inflammation.
If this does not have the desired results, doctors will
describe antihistamine pills that one will have to take for a period until one
feels better.
Kifissia is covered with pollen from the fir trees and many
people including me have developed the allergic symptoms described above.
