TRUMP'S ABSURD WORDS AND DEEDS AND THE FURIOUS PROTESTERS

A memorial service will be held, today, for George Floyd in Raeford, North Carolina where he was born.  Family members and innumerable mourners will pay homage to Floyd and the service will show a period that lasted eight and a half minutes, the length of time a policeman pressed against his neck as he lay on the ground, handcuffed, before dying.

Authorities in Washington are expecting the largest demonstration against police atrocities, on Saturday, provoked by Floyd's murder.  The Mayor of Washington demanded President Trump to cancel federal law enforcement from the city.  For days, the expanded military presence, with hundreds of additional troops on standby, have eroded tensions between municipal and federal authorises.  Washington's Police Chief said that Saturday's planned event "may be one of the largest that we ever had in this city."

Trump calling himself the "president of law and order" said the country was gripped by looters while he sent military forces against the demonstrators.   "Donald Trump is the first American president in my lifetime, who does not try to unite the American people, does not even pretend to try, instead he tries to divide us," said Mattis, who served as Trump's Minister for Defence from 2017-2019.

Several videos of police monstrosities have appeared during the protests over Floyd's murder.  In Buffalo, two policemen were suspended after they were seen pushing a 75-year-old man to the ground, who was seriously injured on the head.  Meanwhile, the Indianapolis police are investigating the action of policemen after they were witnessed beating and firing pepper rounds on coloured women.

The large majority of the demonstrations were peaceful, over the past eight days, but some became violent and riotous after police monstrosities occurred, so curfews were imposed in several cities.

During one protest, security forces in Washington, fired with pepper balls and smoke bombs to disperse demonstrators outside the White House, allowing Trump to walk to a neighbouring church with a Bible in his hand so that he could be photographed. Responding to this, the civil rights group American Civil Rights Union, filed a lawsuit, accusing the president, the attorney general and others of violating the constitutional rights of the protesters. "When the nation's top law enforcement officer becomes complicit in the tactics of an autocrat, it chills protected speech from us all," said ACRU official, Scott Michelman, according to Reuters.

Following the murder of Floyd, while under arrest, protests have exhausted America and witnesses have wondered how one of the most powerful countries in the world could the falling into such chaos.

Despite being defined by race, Americans do not spend much time analysing the history of their racial division but Floyd's murder seems to be the climax for an exhausted, racially divided nation.

I wish our American friends that they will be, soon, progressing towards racial equality, despite the racial discrimination that several might be feeling, extinguishing fierce police aggression and their preposterous president, to say the least. Good luck dear Friends!
