 I must apologise because this post should have been written several days ago but the subject was extremely interesting for us Greeks.


                  GREEK LANGUAGE DAY IS CELEBRATED AROUND THE WORLD

 




The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, along with religious leaders and students of the Greek language applauded  Greek, on Tuesday, in commemoration of the World Greek Language Day.

“Greek is the language of Homer and Aristotle” Prime Minister Mitsotakis said, “but also the language of Seferis and Elytis.  A starting point of history and culture, a compass of today and a beacon of the future.  A bridge over borders, embracing the world.  That is why we learn, speak and feel Greek.”

 


On a video released by Konstantinos Vlassis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, who is in charge of the Greeks of the diaspora and other students of the Greek language declared their love and appreciation of ancient and modern Greek.  “It is the mother of all languages”, Mr Vlassis added.
