NASA EXPECTS HUMANS TO LIVE ON THE MOON THIS DECADE

NASA the U.S. space agency says humans should be able to live on the Moon for longer periods this very decade, based on the successful launch of the Artemis spacecraft.

Howard Hu, the leader of the Orion lunar spacecraft for NASA, said watching Artemis liftoff was "an unbelievable feeling" adding that "its the first step we are taking to the long-term deep space exploration not just for the United States but for the world."

Hu however indicated that certain conditions would need to be made available to support scientific missions and stressed that the Artemis' launch was a "historic event for human space flight."

He said, "We are going to the Moon and we are working toward a sustainable program this is the vehicle that will land us back on the Moon again."

He explained that if the current Artemis flight is successful, then the next will be with a crew followed by a third on which the astronauts would land on the Moon again for the first time since the APOLLO Moon Mission 50 years ago.

He told the press that the current mission was proceeding well with all systems working.
