ANCIENT GREEK PAPYRI BURNED AT MOUNT VESUVIOUS NOW REVIVED

Ancient Greek papyri that burned have now been revived. The knowledge from the papyri was carbonized beyond recognition by the explosive volcano has been recovered. Many are pleased to hear it and wish to know more.

The Herculean papyri sometimes referred to as the Herculean scrolls, total more than 1.800.  They were found in the ancient Italian village of Herculaneum in the 18th century,

European scientists have found ancient Greek hidden on the back of the scorched scrolls. Carbonized by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, it has been a difficult burden to overcome.

Today, new technologies are finally able to reveal their contents. Just as challenging as understanding the new technology has enabled scientists to revive our access to ancient Greek scrolls trying to understand them.
