The 39th Athens Marathon took part last Saturday and had its own Greek heroes to celebrate. Two Greek men and one Greek woman came first, second and third among so many others.
The first was noteworthy for being the fastest of all both Greek and foreign, and the second for being the runner-up. but the most remarkable was the third for being the fastest woman who took part in the Athens Marathon.
Thousands of athletes from all over the world came to Athens this year to take part in the race. Charalambos Pitsolis came in first, Konstandinos Ghelaouzos came second and Vasiliki Konstandopoulou came third.
