Greece announces seismic searches for energy resources to be conducted by energy giant Exxon Mobil by 70% and Hellenic Petroleum by 30% off the Peloponnese peninsular and the island of Crete.
Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, said during an exclusive interview with one of the country's prominent private broadcasters ANT1.
"This discovery of natural gas there, as we hope for, would contribute to the energy of the whole region," he said.
Referring to the possible extension of Greek territorial waters to 12 nautical miles south of Crete, as brought by the main opposition Syriza Mitsotakis said that they will never rule out such a move.
