Stoicism, one of the philosophical movements of the Hellenistic period was founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens in the early 2nd century BC. 

Stoicism is a philosophy of personal ethics in its systen of logic and its views on the natural world. For the  Stoics imotions like fear, envy, passonate love, were merely false judgement and the sage, a person who had attained moral and intellectual perfection would not be touched by them.
