Christmas is celebrated on the 25th December all through the world as this was the date of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. However various scholars claim that Christmas has either come from pagan festivals or was strongly inflenced by them.
The festival that most likely resembles Christmas is the Roman festival of Saturnalia.This was a festival held from the 17th to the 24th of December as commemorating the Golden Age of myhology in which Saturn was King.
This Roman festival ultimately comes from the Greek festival Kronia as Kronos is equivalent to Saturn in Greek.
