As I have written before. Rishi Sunak is the new Prime Minister of Great Britain and by his side is his wife, Akshata Murthy, the fashion designer, and Indian billionaire who founded Infosys.
The two initially met while studying at Stanford and, in 2009 decided to get married in a two-day wedding in Bangalore. As for 2022, Sunak and Murthy are one of the richest couples in Great Britain, they are richer than Queen Elizabeth was.
Murthy is the head of the fashion label Akshata Designs and is also the director of a venture capital firm founded by her father in 2010.
Her love and passion for clothes began at a very young age, as she told Vogue India in 2011, adding "I like the story of a particular garment, its authenticity, craftsmanship, and protected high heritage."
The couple has a minimum of four properties, including a 7 million pound house in Kensington, where they live with their two children Krishna and Anoushka according to The Times.
The fashion designer is said to have 0.9 percent shares in her family's tech firm worth 430 million pounds. These assets make Indian-born Murthy richer than Queen Elizabeth.
Another major investment her family is part of the joint investment with Amazon worth 90 million pounds. They also own shares in the firm running Jamies Italian and the burger chain Wendy's in India.
