THAT SUMMER
A wonderfully romantic and dramatic film of 1971 with Elena
Nathanael, Lakis Komninos, Andreas Phillipides, and Roula Christophorou. A dramatic love story is depicted in the film,
it has a modern scenario that attracts the public. The two actors lived a great love story as a
couple and many of the audience wished them to be together in real life.
Here is the gist of the story:
A couple is in estrangement for two years and they almost
divorced. Peter (Lakis Komninos) returns
to Athens from London after an invitation from his wife Elena (Elena Nathanael)
and they meet at a country house by the sea, and their love warms up once more. Peter is ready to start a new life with Elena
but unfortunately, she is dying of cancer and that will be their last summer together. Elena dies so Peter and their daughter Jenny
are left alone in life, always grieving the tragic loss of their adored wife
and mother. Finally, Peter creates a
wonderful life for his beloved daughter always remembering and missing Elena.
