Stephanos Papadimos, a Greek artist and designer changed the
popular café cum vegan restaurant “Solasta” by painting on its walls.
According to the artist’s personal website, the concept for “Solasta”
to inspire people to read and take a break from the city, despite being in a
busy and noisy neighbourhood.
“The variety of elements of the space as well as the
colourful furniture and decorations led to the decision of a monochrome mural
with an intricate illustration that created a playful morning atmosphere but
also, a mysterious and sophisticated impression at night,” Papadimos explained
to the press.
What is even more fascinating with Papademos’s work is that
the entire piece of art was completed without a pattern or a guide. The entire project was based on an
improvision “with a constant review of the shape within the space and the overall layout,” he explained.
Papadimos’ determination and talent is the perfect example
of how talented Greek artists can do wonders when businesses and shop owners
decide to trust their talent instead of using uninspired wallpapers and works
of art.
