Boris Johnson said on Thursday, that he was resigning as British Prime Minister, bowing to the calls from ministerial colleagues and lawmakers in the Conservative Party.
Johnson said "It is the will of the Conservative Party, that there should be a new leader of the Party, therefore, a new Prime Minister and I have agreed with Sir Graham Brady, chairman of our backbench MPs that the process of choosing a new leader should begin now and the timetable will be announced next week. I have today appointed a cabinet to serve, as I shall, until the new leader is in place," .
