ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE FALL 0F CONSTANTINOPLE, THE MEMORY OF ASIA MINOR GREEKS NOT ONLY LIVES ON BUT THRIVES.

 

  

Today marks the day in 1453, when the milliard old Greek presence in Asia Minor suffered its fatal blow. Tuesday, the 29th May 1453, a black day for Greek history, when the invading Ottoman Turkish armies conquered the city of Constantinople, marking the end of the Byzantine Empire.
