SEVERE SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIA

It is well known that Russian forces have launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by land, sea, and air.  This is the largest attack of one state against another since World War II.  In a press conference, Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen and Mr. Josep Borrell showed their deep concern about the issue.  They both said that Russia must be severely sanctioned.

European Union leaders agreed to impose severe economic sanctions on Russia, joining the USA and Britain in trying to punish Vladimir Putin and his allies on unleashing a full-scale attack on Ukraine.  The EU will freeze Russian assets and will block Russia’s banks to European financial markets as part of what EU foreign policy leader, Josep Borrell, described as the harshest package of sanctions ever implemented.    Athens is furious with Moscow due to the murder of 10 Greek nationals.
