MY BELOVED HUSBAND DIED 7 YEARS AGO

My beloved husband Alexandros Cocali, unfortunately, died seven years ago leaving me desolate. He was a wonderful husband, a loving father of Spyros and Yiannis, a loving father-in-law of Janna and Elpida, proud grandfather of Alex and Tina, Joy, Constantinos, Stephanos, Alex and Christophoros

One of the men aboard a ferry that caught fire near Greece on Friday has been found alive authorities say.  Rescuers spotted the man on Sunday on the vessel’s stern as it was being towed to port.

“Tell me I am alive,” the 21-year-old truck driver from Belarus told rescuers according to media.  The man was one of the 21 truck drivers who were missing, and he told Greek media he had heard other voices on the ship, so he presumed more or all were alive.

Eleven people are still missing, while more than 270 were rescued and taken to Corfu.  As previously mentioned in an older post the Italian-flagged Euroferry Olympia caught fire en route to the port of Brindisi.  The cause of the blaze is still being investigated and the captain and two engineers were briefly detained before being released.

Small fires 0000continued to burn inside the vessel on Sunday after it was towed to a secure area north of Corfu.  The people that are missing are thought to be from Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey, Greek authorities said earlier.

"The management of the Grimaldi group wishes to express its deep gratitude to all Greek and Italian authorities involved in the rescue operation, in particular, the Greek Coastguard and the Italian Guarda di Finanza for their prompt intervention," the ferry company said in a statement.

We hope and pray that the remaining missing passengers will be found safe and sound.
