THE ANTIKYTHERA MECHANISM WAS DISCOVERED ON THIS DAY IN 1901

 The Antikythera Mechanism widely believed to be the world's first computer was among the wreckage retrived from a shipwreck off the coast of the Greek island if Antikythera on May 11th 1901.

A year later it was identified as containing a gear by Greek archaeologist Valerios Stais and then the Mechanism had a lasting impact on scientists and thinkers around the world, 

PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT THE PARTHENON MARBLES MUST RETURN TO GREECE.
