ANCIENT GREEKS USED LIFTING DEVICES TO MOVE STONES BEFORE CRANES

 Recent research shows that the ancient Greek used lifting mahines to lift heavy stones before they invented cranes.

It is commonly believed that the foremost discovery of the ancient Greeks in building technology is the crane.  Yet enormous stone structures were known to have been b yesrs uilt in Greece at least 150 years before the use of cranes. at least in the 6th century BC according to the research published in the Annual of the British School in Athens.
