Baked Ukrainian Apples
As many apples as you like
Ingredients for each apple:
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp chopped walnuts
1 tbsp raisins
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
1 tbsp butter + extra for the baking dish and the top of the apples
1/2 tsp lemon juice
(Mix all the ingredients well together)
Topping for each apple:
1 tbsp sour cream
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp rum
Preheat the oven to 180 C (350 F), place a wire rack in the middle of the oven and grease a baking dish with butter.
Soak the raisins in hot water for 30 minutes then drain and pat dry. Core the apples cut them in half if you wish and stuff them with the prepared filling. Place a tiny piece of butter on each apple and bake for 25-30 minutes until they bubble and start to brown.
Meanwhile, mix sour cream, brown sugar, and rum. Pour over the hot baked apples and enjoy.
