Due to strong winds blowing in the area, a large fire is raging on the mountain of Panteli.
The children from Daou Pendeli hospital have been evacuated to safety, at the Children's Hospital of "Aghia Sophia".
Two houses have been burnt to ashes. The Greek Fire Brigade helped by their Romanian comrades are trying to put out the fire but in vain because of the strong winds.
The President of the Greek Red Cross is presently trying to evacuate people to safety.
More firefighters helped by the police and army helicopters and aircraft are trying to extinguish the fire before dawn.
They also tried to help, yesterday, but the thick smoke prevented them from seeing their target.
The residents of three more settlements of Pendeli were told to evacuate.
The Emergency 112 Alert was issued to residents of Anthousa, advising them to move towards Gerakan, Dioni. Damari and Palini. ,
