The French National Day is the anniversary of the storming
or the Bastille on the 14th July 1789, a major event of the French Revolution. Also, the Fete de la Fédération that celebrates the unity of the French people, on the
14th July 1796.
Celebrations are held throughout France and a parade described as “the largest Military Parade in Europe”, takes place each 14th July, at the Champs Elysée, in Paris, in front of the President of the Republic, other French officials and foreign visitors.
The Fleur de Lys is a French heraldic sign.
