"We all know that Ukrainians are ready to tie die for the European perspective," the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Lyen said in announcing the news that the Commission has recommended Ukraine for Eu-candidate status.
Europe is welcoming and integrating displaced Ukrainians. Upon arrival in the EU, a special mechanism is activated for immediate authorization and, restoration of a residential permit, with automatic assignment of Social Security, identification numbers, tax identification numbers, and access to the National Health System.
Temporary protection has an initial duration of one year but may be extended to two six-monthly periods, provided that the conditions preventing people from returning to their country still apply,
