GREEK AMERICAN PHYSICIAN HELPED DEVELOP MERK CORONA PILL
A Greek-American, Dr Nick Kartsonis is the Senior Vice President in charge of global trials at Merk Research Laboratories that have developed the pill to combat the coronavirus.
Phizer Inc. said a preliminary look at study results indicates its experimental pill was highly effective at preventing people at high risk of severe Covid 19 from needing hospitalization or dying, the latest encouraging treatment for an early virus treatment.
The company's drug, called PAXLOVID, cut the risk of hospitalization or death in a study about Covid victims shows that if they take the pill within 3 days of diagnosis.
