The devastating fires continue burning out of control in Attica, The Greek Civil Protection Service alerted residents to seal their chimneys, doors, and windows to keep out the red-hot tiny pieces of smoking wood (kaftres in Greek) that would certainly cause fires.
We hope that fire airplanes will soon fly, with masses of water to pour on the flaming regions, so that the fire can be checked and annihilated.
Some people have respiratory problems due to the heavy smoke, so please stay indoors with the windows shut.
We are so sad that so many people lost their homes to this terrible, catastrophic fire. But we are also happy because all the residents of the area are safe and sound, although tired and furious. It is wonderful to be happy with one's family and rebuild the burnt houses again when given the insurance or government compensation.
