HAS SCENCE DISCOVERED GOD?

Scientists are unable to tell us who created the universe.  Some, however, believe that it clearly points to the Creator.   Einstein didn’t believe it was possible, and Stephen Hawking said it might be the greatest discovery of all times.

What discovery has baffled the greatest scientists, and when has it caused them to reconsider the origin of the universe.  New, powerful telescopes have recorded mysteries about the universe that have raised questions about the origin of life.

Hasn’t science proven we don’t need God to explain the origin of the universe?  Earthquakes, lightning or even babies used to be considered as acts of God, but now we know better.  What is there about this discovery that is so fundamentally different, stunning the scientific world?

This discovery is what molecular biologists learned about the sophisticated coding within DNA have many scientists now admitting that the universe is part of a grand design.  One cosmologist said: “Many scientists when they admit their views, incline toward the teleological or design armament”.  Surprisingly many scientists who are talking about God have no belief whatsoever.

So what are these stunning discoveries that have scientists suddenly speaking of God?  Three revolutionary discoveries in the fields of astronomy, molecular biology stand out:

1  The universe had a beginning

2  The universe is just right for life

3  DNA coding reveals intelligence since the beginning of civilization many have gazed at the stars, wondering how and when they got there.  Hubble and other powerful telescopes indicate there are trillions of them clustered in 100 million galaxies.  Our sun is like a grain of sand on a large beach.

However, before the 20th century, the majority of scientists believed that the Milky Way Galaxy was the entire universe and that only 100 million stars existed. Most scientists believed that the universe never had a beginning.  They believed that the stars, space, and energy had always existed.

But in the early 20th-century astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered that the universe is expanding.  Using the process mathematically, he discovered that everything in the universe, including matter, energy, space and even time itself had a beginning.

Shockwaves rang loudly through the scientific community.  Many scientists, including Einstein, reacted negatively, which he later called “the largest blunder of my life.”

Perhaps the most vocal adversary of the beginning of the universe was British astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle, who sarcastically nicknamed the creation event as “big bang”.  He stubbornly held to his theory that the universe had always existed.  So did Einstein and other scientists until the evidence became overwhelming.

Finally, in 1992 COBE satellite experiments proved that the universe did begin with a tremendous flash of light and energy.
