Yesterday, around 10 pm, a violent storm left six
people dead and over a hundred injured, on the beautiful coast of Halkidiki, in
northern Greece. Unfortunately, the
victims were all tourists, mostly young people, including two children. They had chosen our country to spend their summer holidays that, regrettably, had this disastrous finale. We grieve with their families and loved ones for their tragic, unnecessary loss. Also, our very best wishes to the injured for a total and speedy recuperation.
Deplorably, according to the latest news, two more victims are added to the dead, a fisherman and a woman who was seriously injured.
The Greek government has confirmed its utter support to the victims' families and to all the businesses that were destroyed by this formidable storm.
