Greece’s prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the French
president Emmanuel Macron made a defensive symphony between their two countries
that angered Turkey.
The Turkish government said that the above deal threatens to
harm the NATO alliance!! The agreement
took place when tension increased in the eastern Mediterranean due to Turkey’s
unforgivable behaviour in the region.
Turkey insists that the half Aegean Sea is theirs, not
taking into account the plethora of Greek islands that are all over the Aegean, some neighbouring with Turkey. The delimitation
of territorial waters, of national air space, of exclusive economic zones and
claims of the continental shelf and the
issue to demilitarise some of the Greek islands is an absurd and ridiculous
issue of Turkey.
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan travelled to Sochi, in the Black Sea, to meet the Russian president Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, including trade and defence. Erdogan said Turkey would buy more Russian S-400s despite US warnings.
Why can’t we be fortunate enough to have good neighbours
that so many countries in the European Union have?
