About Me

Joy Cocali
I was born in India of Greek parentage. I am married to a Greek, whom I met in India and we have two children and six grandchildren. World War II found us on leave, on the island of Cephalonia where I attended elementary school. After the war we returned to India where my father was working. Due to unforeseen circumstances I went to school and college in countries, such as India, Greece, Pakistan, Ireland and Switzerland. After that I worked at the Belgian Embassy in Karachi and then my husband and I were transferred to East Africa, Kenya and Uganda. I live in Greece since 1958, where we run a family business. I simply love cooking, it must be in my genes as my mother, grandmother and aunts were excellent cooks. I love eating, also! I try new recipes, invent my own, experiment with new ingredients and aromatic herbs, which grow so abundantly in Greece. I certainly never thought of starting a cooking blog. until my children coaxed me into trying and I am thoroughly enjoying it, despite my age!
